Artist's Comments

I had a whole story about this dragon, but I forgot it since it's been so long since I've started this.

There's probably a million different things wrong with this thing, so try to find them all! Go on, I dare you!

Edit: Fixed up the tree a lot. I had to move the hand because of this, so the new hand should look better. Also changed the last curve on the body to look less painful, cleaned up the background and matched the body contrast to the head. Now see if you can find anything else wrong :evillaugh:

This is so freaky yet so very awesome! I like the drippy after-rain painterly feel of the entire composition.
The hair in particular is done very well. The background mist is spot on. The metal collar is wonderfully coloured and the head is has very nice details on scales and shading.
But how am I supposed to name a million things?? (Does dA let you write that much in one comment? XD)
Let's see how far I can get though..
1- I guess the most obvious thing is that the tree is a bit flat due to hardly very small shade/hue differences? (But for all I know, it could be intentional)
2- The way the dragon wraps around the tree makes the tree look even more flat by having the tail cross the front too straight horizontally.
3- The tail kinda reaches a really sharp corner on the bottom left?
4- The way the dragon hides behind the tree also makes it look flat, due to the lack of making the head bigger and the part behind the tree smaller to give a sense of depth..
5- Some of the lightsourcing seems a bit strange? The rightmost branch somehow casted a shadow even though it's in front of that part of the tail, and the light seems to be coming from the other way.. I think. It sorta feels like an omnipresent light source.
6- The hands seem to be coloured differently? The right one has more detail I think.
7- Some branches seem to come out randomly in awkward sizes and directions?
8- I know some trees are weird like this, but the average tree doesn't end abruptly at the top with small branches, but then again this could be intentional. (Weird trees look really cool! I wanted to take photos of some.)

..Gah, I'm stuck. That's 8/1000000 points for me. 0.0008%, boy I failed that quiz horribly XD
What brings out a picture though, is its focal point. And here the focal point, your dragon's head, is beautifully and masterfully drawn and coloured! I want to do something like that! :D

Of course, I don't think it's worth making any changes to fix any of this.. It'd be far too much work. But the character is so cool, I wish I knew what the story was..

Well I'll tell you what's _not_ wrong with that picture; that head is beautifully done. Good job!!

Holy snap, that's awesome, I'm faving this by the way. ^_^

Might want to add a little more shading and shadows to the tree though, to give it a little more depth. Otherwise I'd say you've got everything else nailed down tight.
